Then we offer everything from relaxed mingling in our garden by the canal to a lavish dinner in our beautiful dining room.
We welcome groups from 30 up to 150 guests – all year round. On days when the weather allows, we can host up to 2,000 guests in our garden by the Djurgården Canal. You can arrive by public transport, car, or boat.
For all kinds of celebrations – christenings, weddings, birthdays, or farewells – you’re warmly invited to get in touch. We love personal touches and are happy to help you create a truly memorable occasion
STOCKHOLM 1897 SAUNA
The sauna is small and unpretentious – built for conversation, laughter, and refreshing dips. It fits 8 people at a time, with room for another 15–20 on the benches outside or in the small bar nearby. Enjoy the heat and a swim, or simply join in with something cold and delicious in your glass. However you choose to visit us, we promise a truly unique and personal experience.
Perfect for smaller groups – or as part of something bigger. Want to book the entire venue? We can host up to 1,500 people for parties, celebrations, or corporate events. Wednesday to Sunday, on days when the sauna isn’t booked, it’s open for drop-in visits.
• Rental: SEK 5,000 for 2 hours + SEK 150 per person

About Stockholm 1897 – The Place, Architecture, and Historical Context
Stockholm 1897 is located by Djurgårdsbron, a historically significant site in the heart of Stockholm. In 1897, the area hosted the General Art and Industrial Exposition – a national world’s fair where Sweden showcased its advancements in industry, technology, art, and culinary culture. With over a million visitors, the event helped establish the area as a public space for innovation, cultural expression, and national pride.
På 1950-talet användes platsen återigen för en större offentlig utställning – bostadsutställningen på Djurgården – där prototyphus presenterades som exempel på framtidens svenska boende. Ett av dessa hus kom senare att stå modell för många av de hem som byggdes i Gamla Enskede, Stockholms första trädgårdsstad, som grundades 1908 som en del av den tidiga 1900-talsrörelsen för hälsosammare och rymligare livsmiljöer.
That very building, with its simple and functional design, is today featured on the labels of all bottled beers from Gamla Enskede Bryggeri – proudly served here at Stockholm 1897.
